Part of experiencing the countryside in Germany is the chance to indulge in a river cruise. They vary in size, type and duration from floating restaurants  with live dance bands to simple barges that take passengers. The Mosel is accessible from regular, local train service, meandering roadways, and river craft.
 
Take a cruise and enjoy the slow pace and the scenery. I did.
